UAE AMBASSADOR'S VISIT TO NEPAL
Non-Resident Ambassador of UAE H.E. Mohammed Sultan Abdalla Al Owais visited Kathmandu, Nepal from 9-11 July. The outcome of the visit was : -
Meeting with Minister of Civil Aviation
He called on the Civil Aviation Minister of Nepal on 11 July. Present in the meeting were Secretary, Joint Secretary, and Under Secretary of Ministry of Civil Aviation and also official from Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ambassador requested the Minister and his team for early convening of full civil aviation bilateral talks and said this request has been pending with Nepal Government for long time and this delay is affecting the growth of not only aviation sector but also the trade sectors.
Meeting with Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI)
The ambassador also met with Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. An interactive meeting was organized by FNCCI. Ambassador interacted with FNCCI Executive Committee member to gain first- hand knowledge and understanding of the opportunities in Nepal for trade and investment. The FNCCI sought UAE’s investment in power generation, agri – processing besides other sectors including promoting women entrepreneurs exchange programme.
FNCCI informed the Ambassador that FNCCI has signed a MoU with Federation of UAE Chamber of Commerce and Industry – UAE to co-operate and exchange of business delegation visits between UAE and Nepal and sought Ambassador’s support in initiating action from UAE side.
Press Interview to Nepalese Business Daily
Later in the afternoon, Ambassador gave a press interview to the Nepalese Business Daily that has a readership of 25,000. Ambassador answered wide ranging questions on further enhancing the bilateral relations.
