Ambassador Mohammed Sultan Abdalla Al Owais, met with Dr. K. Rosaiah, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. During his meeting with the Chief Minister, Ambassador mentioned that UAE is India's number ONE trading partner and that the UAE is the tenth largest direct investor in India's Market. He also mentioned that the UAE national airlines now have a total of 32 flights between UAE and Hyderabad per week. UAE national airline, Etihad Airways has started new service from Hyderabad to Abu Dhabi - 4 flights a week.
He informed Dr. Rosaiah about the visit of UAE Foreign Trade Minister, HE Sheikha Lubna to Hyderabad. He said the Minister will be visiting Hyderabad to attend the India-GCC Conference on December 9, 2009. The Ambassador extended his invitation to Dr. Rosaiah for attending the Conference and also hoped that he would be able to meet HE Sheikha Lubna separately as well.
Chief Minister Dr. Rosaiah and Ambassador discussed areas of mutual co-operation.
Later in the evening, Ambassador addressed the Etihad Airways celebration programme for the launch of its flights between Abu Dhabi and Hyderabad.
This was Ambassador's first official visit to Hyderabad on November 12. The main purpose of the visit was to promote UAE as the preferred destination for Indian investment and also to build trade and industrial relations with leading Indian companies. |
