5 December, 2017
H.E. Dr Ahmed Albanna, UAE Ambassador to India on December 5th launched a mobile app in New Delhi, aimed at helping visitors from both nations. Ambassador Ahmed Albanna while addressing the Press Conference spoke of the advantages of the mobile app, saying, "The Embassy has created two applications on Apple Store and Google Play where you can access that under the name of United Arab Emirates Embassy, New Delhi.”
"The app is more like a map having key destinations/points along with proper guidance to help process/resolve the issue. For the UAE nationals, it provides services such as 'Twajudi' (service aimed at helping any national return in case of emergency), and help in the case of loss of passport,” said the UAE Ambassador. “The UAE is home to around 2.8 million expatriate Indians, many of whom are blue collar workers in the infrastructure sector. For Indian nationals, the app provides visa and attestation information to help in bridging the gap information to smoothening the overall process,” said the UAE Ambassador.
Speaking on the importance to increase engagement with and services for Indians, H.E. Dr Ahmed Albanna announced setting up of three more consular offices that would enable Indians to procure visas with ease without having to travel far.
