Mohamed Sultan Abdalla Al Owais, Non-Resident Ambassador of the UAE to Nepal, hosted a reception on 3rd December 2011 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the National Day of the United Arab Emirates.
Rt Hon Mr. Pramanand Jha, Vice President of Nepal was the Chief Guest on this occasion.
Large number of guests including Chief of Army Staff of Nepal, ministers, ambassadors, high ranking officials and representatives of the business community participated in the celebration.
In his welcoming speech, the UAE Ambassador paid homage to the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding President of the Nation, and his basic principles which still guide the tremendous development of the UAE.
Ambassador Al Owais spoke on the outstanding relations between the Emirates and Nepal and said the trade between the two countries is growing. He hoped in the coming years, this relation will translate into economic partnerships that would be more beneficial to the people of UAE and Nepal.
The Ambassador said that this was the first ever that the UAE is celebrating the National Day in Nepal since establishing diplomatic relations with Nepal.
The commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the UAE , the National airlines of UAE, Emirates, Etihad, Fly Dubai and Air Arabia displayed a small exhibition. |
