H.E.  Gyanesh Kumar, Resident Commissioner of Kerala paid courtesy visit to H.E. Saed Al Mheiri, Minister Plenipotentiary and Charge D’ Affairs, Embassy of UAE at his Office. H.E. ALMheiri had an discussion on enhancing economic, trade, consular and people to people mutual co-operation between UAE and Kerala.

During the Meeting, H.E. AlMheiri handed over to official letter to open UAE consulate General in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of State of Kerala. The UAE consulate in Thiruvananthapuram will facilitate people of Kerala and neighboring states to get UAE consular services in their nearby place. Now People from Kerala are traveling either to New Delhi or Mumbai for getting their documents attested. 

Mr Kumar appreciated the continuous support and cooperation being extended by the Government of UAE to the Indian community particularly people from Kerala in UAE.

Mr. Kumar informed during the meeting that H. E. Oommen Chandy, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Kerala and H. E. P.K.Kunhalikutty, Hon'ble Minister for Industries and Information Technology, Government of Kerala, has confirmed their participation at the Annual Investment Meeting 2015 scheduled to be held in Dubai during March 30 – April 01, 2015. The Annual Investment Meeting is a UAE Ministry of Economy event held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

H.E. ALMheiri also discussed on the prospective collaboration with Kerala in the areas of Skill Development, IT, Agro- Processing, Tourism and Urban development. On his part Mr Kumar extended a invitation for UAE companies to visit and invest in Kerala.
