THE INAUGURATION AND OPENING OF THE NEW CONSULATE OFFICE IN NEW DELHI
 
Inauguration ceremony was held this morning, 17 October 2016. H.E. Shri Najeeb Jung (Lieutenant Governor of Delhi), H.E. Mohammed Meer Alraeesi (Under Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International co-operation, UAE), H.E. Dr. Ahmed Albanna (UAE Ambassador to India), H.E. Ahmed Aldhaheri (Assistant Under Secretary-MOFAIC, UAE),  H.E. Shri D.M. Mulay (Additional Secretary-M.E.A.), H.E. Shri M.C. Luthar (Joint Secretary–M.E.A.) inaugurated the New Visa Centre. The Ceremony was also attended by the other dignitaries, business leaders and Members of the diplomatic community.

The opening Ceremony of the Visa Centre included the speech by H.E. Mohammed Meer Alraeesi, Under Sectary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International cooperation – UAE. In his speech he added “Ties between India and UAE is much closer than the distance between them. The consulate strives to facilitate this thriving relationship. After the Inauguration all the dignitaries inspected various facilities at the centre, followed by luncheon.

Dr. Ahmed Al Banna highlighted ”The new enhanced and intensified visa centre will save time for applicants and will speed up the visa application process. The Centre is Equipped with new technology with utmost convenience for the applicants. This will open the gates wider for Indian nationals who wish to visit UAE, which is one of the top preferred destinations for tourism worldwide”.

He also added the launch of this visa centre will contribute to the strong relations between India and UAE particularly in the fields of tourism and economy. This will strengthen the bond further.
