Retd. Lt. Gen. J S Ahluwalia, President, Institute of Directors (IOD) called on His Excellency Saed Al Mheiri, Minister Plenipotentiary and Charge D’ Affairs, Embassy of UAE, to discuss about the IOD India’s forthcoming Annual Global Convention scheduled to be held at The Meydan, Dubai from 20th-22ndApril, 2015.

Retd. Lt. Gen Ahluwalia informed Excellency Al Mheiri about the forthcoming event being organized by Institute of Directors. After the success of the two Global Meet’s organized by IOD previously in Dubai, this will be the 3rd time that the event will be held in Dubai.  Retd. Lt. Gen Ahluwalia requested H.E. Al Mheiri’s support in making this event a success.  His Excellency Al Mheiri, for his part, welcomed  Retd. Lt. Gen Ahluwalia and assured his support.

The visiting delegation from Institute of Director’s apprised H.E. Al Mheiri about the previous editions of the event and the VIP’s who have graced the event in the past. The official’s from IOD also informed H.E. Al Mheiri about their recently concluded preparatory visit to UAE for the event. During their visit, they held discussions with various government departments including Dubai Exports, Dubai Customs, Dubai Quality Group, Dubai Economic Council, Dubai Aluminium, to name a few and sought their support for their forthcoming event.
The visiting delegation is also said to have met the Indian Ambassador and Indian Consul General in UAE and they assured their support to IOD in organizing the Annual Global Convention. 

Retd. Lt. Gen Ahluwalia also informed H.E. Al Mheiri about the structure of this year’s event, in terms of organizing a UAE- India Business Meet, a dedicated B2B networking platform. The event will also have special sessions on 'Make in India ' - the most innovative dream project of India's Hon'ble Prime Minister to develop strong multi-country linkages. The event will be concluded with a Study Visit to Masdar City - Abu Dhabi's Modern Sustainable Carbon neutral Eco City. 

The visiting delegation also said that IOD will sign two MoU’s on the sidelines of the aforementioned event, one with Emirates Intellectual Property Association (EIPA) and second with Etisalat Academy.

In the end, Retd. Lt. Gen Ahluwalia also extended an invitation to H.E. Al Mheiri to attend and grace the IOD India’s forthcoming Annual Global Convention 2015.

Mr. Ashok Kapur, Director General, Institute of Directors and Mr. Manoj K Raut, CEO and Director, Institute of Directors, were also present during the meeting.  The UAE Trade Office was also present during the meeting.
