UAE AMBASSADOR INAUGURATED
INDIAN ARAB CULTURAL CENTER PAVILION AT
NEW DELHI WORLD BOOK FAIR
The Ambassador of UAE to India, H.E. Mohamed Sultan Abdalla Al-Owais inaugurated the Indian Arab Cultural Center (IACC) pavilion of Jamia Milia Islamia University at New Delhi World Book Fair 2013 on February 5. H.E. Mohamed Al-Owais also released the Arabic version of ‘The Ramayana.’
Ambassador Al Owais also visited the various stalls at book fair including Sharjah International Book Fair and Ministry of Higher Education, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He appreciated the decorations of folk and tribal presentations at the theme pavilion. Mr M.A. Sikandar, director of National Book Trust (NBT) and Prof. Zikrur Rahman, director of IACC, Jamia Milia Islamia were also present.
IACC successfully translated 50 books of contemporary Indian authors into Arabic Language and Arab writers in Hindi and Urdu languages in collaboration with Kalima, Qalam and Esdarat Projects of Abu Dhabi.
Ambassador Al-Owais, appreciated the joint collaboration between the educational and cultural institutions of UAE and India and expressed his keenness to further support and encourage literary and cultural exchanges between the two nations.
