AMBASSADOR DR. AHMED AL BANNA MEETS
DP WORLD INDIA HEAD
10 May 2016. Mr. Anil Singh, Senior Vice President and Managing Director DP World – Indian Subcontinent paid a courtesy call to H.E. Dr. Ahmed Al Banna, UAE Ambassador to India and exchanged views on mutual co-operation.
During the meeting both discussed and reviewed the growing trade relation between the two nations after the Visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces to India in Feburary 2016 and H.E. Narendra Modi Visit to UAE in August 2015.
Mr Anil Singh briefed UAE Ambassdor on the operational efficiencies that have made DP World one of the leading marine terminal operators worldwide and company India’s current opeations and future investment plan.
DP World has invested about $1.2 billion and is currently the biggest foreign port operator in India—running six port terminals spread across Mundra, Jawaharlal Nehru Port (two facilities), Cochin, Chennai and Visakhapatnam.
These six terminals have a combined market share of about 30% of the 10.7 million twenty foot equivalent units (TEUs) handled by Indian ports during 2014-15. DP World has announced that it seeks opportunities in India worth over $1bn over the next few years.
