It was a follow up meeting after the visit of H.H. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces to India on Republic Day 2017. They advocated the importance of the event and relationship between two governments, that is growing day by day. And he Expressed his understanding and how honored they feel that the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi wants to take the relationship to the next level.
They Exchanged opinions on priorities and plans and expressed satisfaction regarding the high level of engagement between UAE and India in the context of which the two countries also have very good cooperation in the field of railways.
He also Expressed gratitude in receiving letter of Invitation from Minister of Infrastructure Development, UAE, H.E. Abdullah Al Nuaimi for the upcoming event Middle East RAIL 2017 in March at Dubai.
Shri. Suresh Prabhu said that cooperation in the field of railways between India and UAE is important and the role of both the governments, in terms of bringing high technology and expertise is very important.
He handed over the presentation copy showcasing the progress and the way forward for Indian Railways and informed H.E. Dr. Ahmed Albanna that Government has decided to invest huge amount in railways. He informed that Indian Prime Minister is of the view that Railways Development is an important engine for growth in India.
He said that UAE can go beyond the existing cooperation and should invest in strategic technology of Railway Sector in which both India and UAE has mutual benefit.
Shri. Suresh Prabhu invited H.E. Dr. Ahmed Albanna to visit and have a tour at the most famous Indian Train Maharaja Express with a delegation from UAE and also technical round tables could be organized to come up with a work plan between Indian Railways and UAE Railways. He said that he would be sending an official invitation and said that India wants UAE companies in the success story of Indian Railways. He also mentioned that he would be happy to visit UAE and start preparing and lining up the requisite delegation. He said that it will be a logical follow up to the visit of Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi to India.
H.E. Dr. Ahmed Albanna thanked Shri. Suresh Prabhu for the warm welcome accorded to him. He said that in his views the railways sector will play a key role in taking forward UAE-India relations which have received a big boost thanks to the visit of Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi to India as the Chief Guest on the Republic Day. |
