Press Releases

AMBASSADOR DR. AHMED AL BANNA MEETS ADDITIONAL CHIEF SECRETARY -
INDUSTRIES AND MINES OF GUJARAT

20 July 2016. UAE Ambassador Dr. Ahmed Al Banna  had a Courtesy Meeting  with Mr. Arvind Agarwal, Additional Chief Secretary-Industries and Mines and Mr. S.J. Haider, Principal Secretary-Tourism.

During the meeting Mr. Arvind Agarwal discussed about the Vibrant Gujarat journey so far. Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit is an example of the visionary approach of the Government of Gujarat towards inclusive and sustainable development by ensuring policy coherence and effective investment promotion.

The central focus of the 8th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit is “Sustainable Economic and Social Development”. The Summit will bring together Heads of States and Governments, Ministers, leaders from the corporate world, senior policy makers, heads of international institutions and academia from around the world to further the cause of development and promote cooperation.

Gujarat boasts of being one of the leading states in the manufacturing sector and is recognized as India’s growth engine. In the coming Vibrant Gujarat summit scheduled to be held in January 2017, our motif is to connect India to the world. We have reached a stage where we can actually be a window for any foreign investor coming to India and for Indians planning to go out.

Dr Ahmed Al Banna appreciated the continuous support and cooperation being extended by the Government of Gujarat and further stated the UAE is keen to invest in Gujarat especially in the opportunities emerging out of the various initiatives announced by Government of Gujarat.
