New Delhi | March 13, 2018

H.E. M.C. Luther,  Joint Secretary - Overseas Employment & Protector General of Emigrants, Government of India called upon a courtesy meeting with H.E. Dr Ahmed Albanna, UAE Ambassador to India.

During the meeting Mr. Luther stressed that the primary objective of this meeting   is to discuss and implement set standards which would be useful in dealing with the challenges faced in respect of migration clearance. He also made reference to the recent issues occurred and the challenges faced by both the countries.  He mentioned, it is essential that the migration  policiesare developed in the framework and that cooperation is based on mutual partnership

The Ambassador stated that managed and regularised Immigration will benefit both countries. In addition this arrangement will eliminate the risks involved and will enhance understanding and cooperation. For the same he advised joint meeting to discuss the same.

He added that it is important that both the countries continues to implement a comprehensive and balanced migration policy. This covers solving the root causes of migration in cooperation with countries of origin and transit, strong protection of external borders, Ambassador Albanna noted.

The Meeting also reviewed the progress on the realization of finalization of MOU and  to implement the further Plan of Action on Emigration Matters.

H.E. Dr. Ahmed Albanna conveyed his Government’s deep appreciation for the vital contribution of the large, accomplished and highly regarded Indian Community to the progress of UAE.
