Ambassador Krishna V Rajan, Convenor-PHD Ambassadors Economic Forum called upon a courtesy meeting with H.E. Dr. Ahmed Albanna, UAE Ambassador to India.

During the meeting he discussed about the recently launched The PHD Ambassadors Economic Forumn, which is intended to be open – ended institutional arrangements which brings together serving and retired ambassadors, Indian and foreign, under one roof with the view to utilizing their rich experience, insights and experience on a regular basis, thereby encouraging a more pro active role of the diplomatic community in prompting trade, investment and technology flows between India and other countries.

Ambassador Rajan informed that the business related interactions are already taking place between UAE and India, especially in SME and high tech sectors, this will further enhance as a result of PHD initiative.
He also stated that this would create an informal “Think Tank” for the business communities and an open-ended mechanism for focused interaction with key Embassies and their governments as well as identify new technologies, approaches, and partnership arrangements relevant to India’s ambitious economic journey.
H.E. Dr. Ahmed Albanna discussed about the four major sectors of FDI from India to UAE i.e. Transportation & Automobile, Food processing, IT and Energy and about the importance of directing investment from India to UAE.

Ambassador Dr Ahmed Albanna also extended the fullest possible cooperation to the Forum, and told him to call on a meeting at the earliest convenience to discuss concrete possibilities of collaboration to ensure speedy, positive outcomes to the discussion on various opportunities for expanding and diversifying cooperation between two countries.
