H.E. Dr Ahmed Albanna, Ambassador of UAE to India had an interview session with Mr K.V Prasad Resident Editor of The Tribune Newspaper. In an Exclusive Interview published on 2 December 2016 in the Indian newspaper The Tribune, Ambassador Dr. Ahmed Albanna says that the ties between India and the United Arab Emirates have, over the decades grown, riding on the strength of trade and investments
H.E Dr. Ahmed Albanna highlighted that prime minister Narendra Modi announced the invitation to the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as the chief guest on the Republic day. His Highness accepted it. He was in India this February and will be coming twice within a year. This shows the importance of the relationship for the UAE.
He also discussed about counter-terrorism, cyber security and maritime Security.
During the interview, HE Dr. Ahmed Albanna explained about the bilateral relations between UAE and India and praised India for its booming economy. H.E. Ambassador is hoping to see more cooperation between both countries in various sectors and encouraged India to participate in various events that happens in UAE.
He mentioned since the last visit, in cooperation on military and defence, exchange of information, manufacturing, joint exercises. He foresee a greater cooperation. Especially so in Research and Development, Security and Military, including joint production collaboration.
