H.E Dr. Ahmed Albanna had one to one meeting with H.E Dr. Amit Mitra to discuss about the increased planning of business destination, investment programmes in West Bengal and engagement with UAE to achieve concrete results in number of areas. He added, UAE continued to share close and cordial relations with India into extensive bilateral, strategic and economic partnership through a constant exchange of visits, business interactions and cultural exchanges.
In the meeting, H.E Dr. Mitra briefed about the fourth edition of Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) that will be held on 16-17 Jan 2018. He outlined, the business opportunities of the State offers are spread across a multidimensional spectrum of sectors including Industrial infrastructure, Manufacturing clusters, Urban Development, Agro, Food processing, IT & ITES, Transport, Tourism, Power, Skills, Healthcare & Education. He briefed, the State Govt. is committed towards inclusive and sustainable development, providing increasing employment opportunities. Also, new maritime Policy with upcoming 2 major deep sea ports coming up at Kulpi and Tajpur, Amritsar Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC) aligned to Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor, national waterways, ready industrial infrastructure with over 200 industrial parks/estates covering around 20,000 acres, 6 new theme townships promises to open up new vistas of investment opportunities. He also invited UAE investors into upcoming infrastructure projects in West Bengal.
H.E Dr. Ahmed Albanna expressed about the tourism where The UAE & West Bengal respective delegations can meet in SATTE in New Delhi. He also invited West Bengal delegation to Arab Tourism Market (ATM) to enhance the business opportunities. He appreciated and assured that UAE will be honored to support any Indian State tremendously and strengthened further in various spheres also referred to other sectors and participation in the Summit in January 2018.
The meeting ended on a positive note with agreeing to participate and work together to explore and extend cooperation in the mutually identified sectors for bringing business to West Bengal. |
