Dear visitor,

I am very pleased to welcome you to this section of the website of the Embassy of United Arab Emirates in India. Through this section our aim is to provide you with information regarding the role of the Military Attaché Office in India and the various areas of activiteis that our office works on to enhance bilateral ties between the two countries.

I would like to thank you for going through this section and I am sure that we have been able to provide you with some useful information regarding the Defence Wing of the UAE Embassy in India.
  Establisment
The Military Attaché Office, Embassy of United Arab Emirates was established in 15th August, 1998 under the expert guidance of Brigadier Abdulla Salem Awad (who was then a Colonel) and who served as the first Military Attache of UAE in India.

  Role of the Military Attaché Office

Facilitating the availability of various courses of UAE Officers offered by the Indian Armed Forces, including the courses of the National Defence College and Defence Service Staff College.

Coordinating the visit of defence delegations from and to India to enhance the bilateral relations between the two countries. The Military Attaché Office has been actively representing UAE at various Joint Defence Cooperation Committee Talks, Naval Staff talks and Defence Seminars and symposiums held from time to time in India.

In the January 2008, the Military Attaché Office expanded its area of activity by opening up Medical Wing, which takes care of the patients coming in from UAE for treatment in India. The Medical Department has a tie up with various hospitals in and out of Delhi and under the guidance of the Military Attaché; the medical department makes sure that the Patients who come from UAE get the best treatment at all times.
  Armed Forces Day
The UAE Armed Forces Day is celebrated in India on the 06th May evey year with a large number of Diplomatic and Non-Diplomatic community being a part of the event. The invitees include the Officer of the Indian Defence Forces, Military Attaché of various Embassies in India, the Ambassadors and a Counselors of Arab Nations along with other important Bureaucrats of the Foreign Ministry of India.
